The building was beautiful and in a perfect location for the wedding we attended next door at St Giles house. The two owners were amazing, so lovely and helpful and remembered our names from one meeting of them!

We were looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing from which we could do a long walk, preferably ending in a great pub, and The Tool Shed was the most perfect fit. It was really well connected by car and has loads of public footpaths to take you on gorgeous trips through the countryside. We chose a 7 mile walk to the Sixpenny Brewery in Cranborne and it was glorious! We found wild garlic behind the church in Wimborne St Giles and saw hares and kingfishers along the way. The house itself is in an absolutely idyllic setting with gorgeous views (and an adorable dog). Tracey was so accommodating and communicative in the run up, but left us to enjoy the stay once we'd arrived which was perfect. The property was cosy but surprisingly spacious with a large bedroom and living/dining area. Really comfortable bed, and a good shower. The breakfast items and general essentials provided were great, and the galley kitchen had everything we needed. On our way home we popped by the Cranborne Chase cider shack (5mins drive) to get some delicious Dorset cider to take home as well - highly recommended.

Lovely location, we had beautiful weather during our stay.
The lodge was very comfortable for the 6 of us.
When we arrived there was a fresh loaf of bread, a cake, milk and some jams which were very much appreciated by us all!
The hot tub was an extra bit of luxury, very relaxing break.
We went on a walk to Cranbourne during our stay and called in at The Sixpenny Brewery and went to The Garden Centre for lunch, we would recommend visiting all of the places.

The small village of Cranborne was picture perfect with a beautiful church, along with fascinating graveyard. The Manor House was jaw-dropping (obviously from the outside and far away!) with stunning walks around and about. There are a number of pubs and the overall atmosphere was wonderful.. I can’t wait to return ♥️

Cranborne is a superb setting, beautifully maintained where every guest is made welcome and made to feel special. The staff are excellent and very well led by the management team. I have seldom seen a team better prepared and utilised.
Beautiful grounds with charming alpacas provided great walks and photo opportunities.
A beautifully restored period which was a pleasure to visit - extremly comfortable and very well equipped. There was no problem parking, and it is ideally placed for exploring the village (the church is very interesting) and for local walks. There are several good options for eating in Cranborne.
The host is very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast is superb! The bathroom is magnificent.
Great quiet place to stay.Nothing was too much trouble for the hard working staff.Nice to see that they were happy to accomodate our requests.
Love going to stay in a pet friendly hotel as pets are very much a part of the family.
Cooking kitchin outside set up very imaginative and serves excellent food.
Always nice to see local youngsters working at the hotel, always very polite and helpful.
Charming location because a short stroll from the front door is a gate opening on to the Cranborne Estate walk. So you can immediately access some of the loveliest Wiltshire countryside, with a magnificent view of Cranborne Manor.
Also the village has one of the nicest and best garden centres and shop in the country!
A lovely room well furnished and a gorgeous bathroom and shower. We had a wonderful evening meal in the restaurant and the speciality of the hotel was chargrilling which really added to both the fish and chicken meal. The staff were really friendly and in all a really nice evening.
I really enjoyed my stay and loved the hotel, it had such a lovely homely feel. The room was lovely and really comfortable and quiet, the breakfast was absolutely delicious and the chap who runs the place was so friendly and made us feel so at home. I’d definitely recommend.
An ideal country retreat in the wonderful Dorset village of Cranborne. Meticulously clean , stylish rooms, great service and restaurant facilities, (no need to eat out), with the best British breakfast that I have had in years.
The staff was very polite and super friendly. They provided us whatever we wanted. The hotel was very fair for what it is. We went as a group of 7 and all of us were very happy. I’d recommend it to anyone!
Lovely room and bathroom in gorgeous house, centrally located in Cranborne.
Comfortable bed, very friendly host and great breakfast. Even my rather fussy husband was impressed!
