Had to find another place to stay at 11 pm at night
Everything was smooth till we opened the door of the suite. The curry smell in the suite was so overpowering to the point it made you feel nauseous from the smell. The owner came over immediately however he was rude and very aggressive, first comment was ..I can’t make people like you happy, so you should just leave. I explained I also have vacation rentals. He said it did not smell like that 2 hours prior. He suggested it was coming from another unit. This was impossible as there was no odour in the hall nor did the other tenants on each side have the smell in their units. He was running his a/c unit which I assume was to rid the place of the smell as the weather was not that warm to be running a/c in May in Whistler. He obviously knew of the problem and tried to put the blame on someone else. We told him we would go eat and come back to see if it had improved. We also encountered food in the refrigerator, the owner said it was his lunch but it certainly put us off on the cleanliness of the refrigerator. Lastly the patio was so dirty and he said it wasn’t patio season so he never cleaned it, however he said he had taken the tarp off the furniture that afternoon. When we returned at 11 pm 6 hrs later, the smell was the same so we left and had to search for another place to stay at 11 pm. The owner refunded our money and normally I would leave it there. However the owner was so rude and aggressive towards us I felt it necessary to provide this review.
