The rod and reel is currently undergoing major construction and as a result does not have access to normal amenities—access to beach is through the back next to a chain link fence, carts and sheds. The pool is closed. The restaurants aren’t open, and the beach access is in the middle of a construction site but they still charge $20 a day resort fee. In addition, with plenty of rooms clean and available, we asked for early check in and a $30 fee was charged and though rooms with balconies were readily available, they were not offered. The fees are the fees and they can choose to run a business that way—but it definitely does not want to make me come back to a place so clearly focused on fees and not guest comfort and return business. The rooms were fine—clean but dated, with chipped paint, dated bathrooms and fixtures. I would not say it was a good value for the price. The rooms we

Bad timing. The resort was undergoing significant renovation when I visited. So bad that I had to cut short my stay and forfeited the cost. No one in the establishment cared enough to ask why or express any concerns that I cut short my stay. That's not how I would run a resort.
