I had a GHD straightening iron for almost 10 years that I love, decided to upgrade on Prime Days when this one was on sale. Big mistake.This iron would be fine, the heating element works well, but my fine hair gets caught in the seam between the plate portion of the iron and the handle-- it's near impossible to get out and even if you can methodically do that, it damages the strands stuck in the plastic. If you're super careful or do really small sections of hair at a time this issue can be avoided, but I've got two little kids and work full-time so I am always just rushing to get myself presentable!Unfortunately, missed the return window on this because I was wearing my hair curly in the summer. Don't make the same mistake I did. I see a few others on here had the same issue, I don't understand how others haven't pulled chunks of hair out, too! This needs to be discontinued.

    Wow! This iron gives better results and leaves my hair silker and straighter with less passes than my older GHD Mk IV Dark styler. If it wasn't for my older styler starting to have intermittent issues after 10+ years of use, I wouldn't have ever considered making the plunge and convince myself on spending the money on GHD's latest styler.

    All I can say is it was money well spent. I just hope this model lasts 10+ years as well..

    -Update-

    After a week of using this styler on a daily basis, I experienced issues with it, the light would flash red and beep at me and not get hot anymore.. Looking on google, apparently these stylers can have issues where any one of the six fuses would fail and caused this issue, so unfortunately had to return the one I got from Amazon.. However further reading, it seems a lot of the issues may come from those who made their purchases through Amazon and other 3rd party retailers... so against my better judgement because the product worked so well over the older Mark IV model I had, I decided to order another one but this time directly from the GHD website, not sure why I didn't consider or bother to look there in the first place, because I am glad that I did, not only was I able to get the white styler for the same price, but also, the heat spray was free (gotta pay extra for the bundle here on Amazon), but in addition, they had a sale promotion going on so I ended up getting the styler for ~$60 less than the price here on Amazon!

    Also not sure if it's true or not, but seen some reviews of individuals who did have issues with their styler and ghd not honoring warranty for purchases made off Amazon, however this could be due to individuals buying from the sketchy non-amazon sellers/listings here, but not sure, but whatever the case, at least i'll know buying direct from ghd, the styler will be fully covered if I do have the same issue I had with this one from Amazon beyond the 30 day return window.

    I had very high hopes for this straightener, but it is not what I was expecting. Not for this amount on money. It is ok, but I also bought a Babyliss for 1/4 of the cost, and it works better. This one is ok, and I guess I'm going to keep it, but it doesn't straighten my hair with one pass that's for sure. It also snags on my hair, doesn't flow on it smoothly, and as another reviewer stated, you have to keep moving quickly or it leaves dents in your hair, which is hard to do when it doesn't flow on the hair smoothly. I got a good deal on it for getting an Amazon Visa, but otherwise it would go back. It also doesn't straighten my hair flat, it still has poof to it, and has almost a dry frizzy look, and the flatness I do get, doesn't last long.     This is the best flat iron I have ever used. I have used Chi, Sedu, Solia, Babyliss, hot tools and several others over the years. I have lived in some pretty humid places as well. I in VA now and it gets pretty humid during the summer.
    I have very frizzy, curly hair that does what it wants. LOL not anymore.
    I can flat iron my hair with this and the humidity doesn't affect it at all. Even when it's pouring rain outside. I may lose a little volume but no frizz, the waves I style last the next day too.
    I will never buy another flat iron brand. This is my forever one. Never again do I have to worry about frizzy hair. The standard heat setting seems to be perfect and it doesn't damage my hair anymore than usual. It heats up in less than 20 secs. Impressive!
    It's super easy to create curls, waves and bone straight. I am by no means a pro at styling but this GHD iron makes it super easy.
    I can NOT recommend this flat iron enough!!

    I was initially a little leery to purchase this on amazon, I was worried it wouldn’t be “authentic”, but I decided to take the plunge and bought it. Upon arrival, I immediately went to GHD’s website and signed the product up for the warranty and had no problems so I’m happy to report the straightener is a genuine GHD product.

    This is my first expensive hair tool. All previous straighteners I’ve owned came from drug stores for $40. My hair stylist uses one in her salon on my hair all the time and I’m always so taken by how smooth it feels on my hair and how fast she curls my entire head. It slides like butter and it doesn’t pull the hair at all. I liked her straightener so much that I had to buy one for myself, despite the high price tag.

    So when it comes to actually using it, it’s very easy. The straightener claims to heat up in 20 seconds, but when I timed it, it actually heated up in 9 seconds which is very impressive. I have fine hair, so I’m always worried about excessive heat burning my hair, so the fact that this straightener didn’t have the option to choose your own heat made me a little nervous, but it’s been just over a month of using it and so far so good! The temperature always seems perfect and it only takes one pass to curl or straighten my hair! Because the shape of the iron is slightly thicker, I find it easier to get a nice curl.

    All in all, I think this was worth the money. It is a very high quality product and the honest fact is that my cheap drugstore straighteners don’t compare. I’m happy I splurged on this because it performs wonderfully!

    Me encanto la plancha de cabello, he comprado muchas de diferentes marcas y siempre regresaba a usar una viejita que tenia de conair que ya esta descontinuada y que el cable ya tenia un falso pero me gustaba como me dejaba el cabello, esta supero mis expectativas, me lo deja super liso, brilloso y calienta muy rapido, aunque no tiene medidor de temperatura y mi cabello es muy delgado he visto que no lo maltrata
