EXPERIENCE A contemporary NAIROBI

EDEN NAIROBI is now under management by the hemingways collection

Dear Travel Partners,

Eden Nairobi has been one of the bravest and most beautiful journeys of my life, it has taught me so much about coming the full circle and has helped me lay the foundations for the next chapter.

I have told the story of my family and invited you all to experience part of our journey. Since we opened we have had a hugely successful international launch and quick support for our unique offerings and we are truly grateful for the industry’s support.

Being a creative I feel that this incredible hotel needs to be managed and run by the top Kenya professionals to mirror its exceptional qualities in the service delivered to the guests and I am so honored to announce that Hemingways Collection will be taking Eden under its wing and making it part of its portfolio of luxury properties from 1st November 2022.

We are in this together and I am so excited for your guests to stay which will now be a further elevated experience.

Thank you all for your incredible support so far, we are truly grateful for the partnership.

Your guests are in very safe hands, very best wishes.

Anna Trzebinski

introducing A new jewel by Anna Trzebinski in Lamu, Kenya

Located in the heart of Shela Village on the Island of Lamu, this jewel of a place (in fact a series of curated experiences) is the latest of Anna Trzebinski’s creations in the realm of travel.

Anna has been coming to Shela since she was around 10 years old and this unique place has played many important roles in her life. She has chosen to create her next immersive experience here aptly named Jannah (arabic ~ paradise), this beautiful experience has all the signature DNA of Anna’s brand – authentic, immersive, purpose driven, socially impactful and, of course, an artist in residence offering woven in from her heavenly Nairobi creation Eden.

Contemporary Swahili Chic, an airy oasis of calm and light, this brand-new building sits on the old village square nestled in the heart of Shela Village on Lamu Island. Jannah comprises of a two bedroom apartment on the 1st floor, a further two bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor, and one large double room Penthouse on the 4th floor.

Guests have access to a communal large covered roof top with spacious and divided lounging areas for sunny days with spectacular views. There is a small uncovered area with a sunbed, a fridge and a toilet for guests’ convenience. A wonderful place to take meals, read, sunbathe relax and soak up the views. There is also a communal Scented Garden (ground floor level, separate entrance), a beautiful walled garden with three individual baraza areas.

To complete your authentic Lamu island life experience all Jannah residents will have access to our three lovingly restored Mozambiquan Dhows (Noor, Khatun and Al Aina) and our beautiful teak taxi boat Tamra, all decorated to the highest standard. Sailing on these dhows, that still use the ancient way to harness the wind, is one of the great pleasures of visiting the archipelago. Sunrise swims in the mangrove channels, day outings to nearby islands, excursions up to Kiwayu island, sunset sails, these are life changing memories.

Tamra is a little like the motorized Lamu version of the gondolas of Venice, these boats are widely used to transport people short distances. Perfect for morning swims, trips to Lamu town, fishing in the creek. Tamra is a restored teak beauty. Please note bookings for the boats are on a first come first serve basis so please book early to avoid disappointment.

A carefully curated and detailed directory provided with the apartment puts village life and archipelago experiences directly in your hands.

This creation signals the next luxury offering in the form of Archipelago Living. An entirely new and unique interpretation and deeply personal sharing of archipelago living centered around village life and life on the water.
