About this item

  • YOUR GO-TO DUTCH OVEN: A flawless pairing of form and function that doesn't quit. The Lodge Dutch Oven not only makes your kitchen look good but is an enameled cast iron classic great for preparing and serving memorable meals. Broil, braise, bake or roast your favorite meals in the oven up to 500 Degree F.
  • WHAT IS PORCELAIN ENAMEL ON CAST IRON. It is glass that becomes bonded to the cast iron at high temperatures. A particulate of glass, called frit, is applied to the cast iron vessel and then baked at temperatures between 1200 and 1400° F. The glass frit melts and fuses to the cast iron, forming a bond. Porcelain enamel on cast iron is heat tolerant and impervious to water and other consumables.
  • EASY TO COOK AND CLEAN: The porcelain enameled interior has a smooth finish that minimizes sticking, promotes caramelization and resists staining. Although enameled cast iron is dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water and a nylon scrub brush is recommended to keep your Dutch Oven in tip top shape
  • HEAT RETENTION: The cast iron vessel has superior heat distribution and retention, evenly heating throughout both the bottom and sidewalls. The tightly fitting lid seals in moisture for scrumptious pot roast, stews or a large batch of beans. Our heat retention also reduces the amount of energy needed for cooking.
  • FAMILY-OWNED. Lodge is more than just a business; it’s a family. The Lodge family founded the company in 1896, and they still own it today. From environmental responsibility to community development, their heads and hearts are rooted in America. Products made with non-toxic, PFOA & PTFE free material.
  • 6-quart Dutch oven made of cast iron with chip-resistant porcelain-enamel finish
  • Cast-iron loop side handles for a safe, secure grip when transporting

About Lodge Cast Iron

Founded in 1896, the Lodge family has been making high quality cookware and accessories for over a century. Lodge Cast Iron operates two foundries on the banks of the Tennessee River in the small town of South Pittsburg, Tennessee; a town Lodge is proud to call home. The company is built on family values, American history, and high quality cookware. All Lodge seasoned cast iron and carbon steel cookware is proudly made in the USA, meaning you’ll get craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations.

Cooking And Caring For Your Lodge Enameled Cast Iron

1. Allow cookware to cool.

2. Although dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water and a nylon Scrub Brush is recommended to preserve the cookware’s original appearance. Citrus juices and citrus-based cleaners (including some dishwasher detergents) should not be used, as they can dull the exterior gloss.

3. If necessary, use nylon pads or scrapers to remove food residue; metal pads or utensils will scratch or chip porcelain.

4. Slight stains can be removed by rubbing with dampened cloth and Lodge Enamel Cleaner or other ceramic cleaner according to directions on bottle.

5. Dry cookware thoroughly before storing. Do not stack cookware.

Product Description

Product Description

Add a colorful splash to your cooking collection with this Lodge EC6D33 6 qt. Caribbean blue enameled cast iron dutch oven, as you combine the benefits of cast iron with the beauty of porcelain enamel. Creating cookware since 1896, Lodge has a rich history of an unparalleled dedication to quality and technology. This particular piece is perfect for making soups, stews, casseroles, and cobblers with superior heat retention and even heating. The vibrant enamel surface is resistant to acidic and alkaline foods. This Dutch oven is right at home on induction, ceramic, electric, and gas cooktops, even in your oven up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Additionally, this oven can handle colder temperatures for marinating or refrigerating foods. Like traditional cast iron cookware, porcelain enameled cookware starts out being cast in the traditional method. However, after this process, a glass particulate called "frit" is applied and the cookware is baked in ovens between 1200 and 1400 degrees Fahrenheit. This process transforms the frit into a smooth porcelain surface that is bonded to the iron. There is no exposed cast iron on the finished product, the black cooking surface and rims are transformed into matte porcelain. This Dutch oven features a vibrant Caribbean blue exterior and a glossy white interior. Overall Dimensions: Length: 13 1/2" Width: 10 3/4" Height: 7 1/4" Weight: 16 lb. Capacity: 6 qt.1

Lodge Color is one of the newest lines from this respected American cast-iron cookware company. Traditionally shaped and more affordable than some European brands, Lodge Color enameled cast-iron is just as durable, requires no seasoning, and attractively serves at the table. Lodge infuses this 6-quart Dutch oven with two coats of hard-as-nails porcelain enamel, in a choice of several bright colors that are gradated (dark to light) on the exterior, and which are nicely set off by a cream interior. Embellished with concentric circles and a black knob, the lid, which also fits the Lodge Color 11-inch skillet, is oven-safe to 400 degrees F, so you can start a stew or casserole on the stovetop and finish by baking it in the oven. The 6-quart Dutch oven measures 10-3/4 inches in diameter by 4-1/2 inches deep.

Lodge enameled cast iron makes a smart choice due to its versatility--you can marinate raw meats in it, since it won't absorb odors or flavors, and you can braise, saute, simmer, and bake in it as well. Made in China to Lodge's meticulous specifications, each cookware item is first clad in matte black enamel before the color is added. The black rim that shows on the oven is actually the scratch-resistant matte enamel, not the raw cast iron. Though the Dutch oven is dishwasher-safe, washing by hand is recommended to best preserve the glossy finish. Look also for the pricier Lodge Enamel series, with its unique L-shaped lid knob, in a different set of colors and sizes to suit any kitchen. All Lodge enameled ware is covered by a lifetime warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

Beautiful and functional. But check lid fit
I bought this enameled Lodge 6-quart in red via Amazon a month ago and I'm mostly happy with it. It's beautiful, cooks very well and is pretty easy to clean. The pot is heavy, which means you'll have to be careful moving it. But that weight helps it retain heat when you add your food, so it sears beautifully. My only concern is that the **lid doesn't fit perfectly** on the pot. My photos show a gap on one side while the other overlap,.which shows me it's **not** a tight seal. While baking a roast in the oven, I've seen steam coming from the gap under the lid, which means it's not staying in the food. Reviews on Amazon suggest the lid fit is hit or miss.Maybe you'll get a higher quality product buying directly from Lodge? Not sure.Good luck, Lodge's enameled dutch oven is a great kitchen tool that's useful for more recipes than I'd ever expected.

I was looking at a much more expensive dutch oven to bake bread and this Lodge pot came up as an alternative. The price could not be beat and the size is perfect for bread, roasts, whole chicken, you name it. Plus after plating the meat and veggies you can put the pan directly onto a stove top to whip up gravy for truly a one pot meal. I purchased the 6 quart and it is HEAVY. I'm 70 years old and wouldn't feel safe picking up anything heavier from the oven, especially when full of meat and vegetables. It's plenty big enough for a big loaf of sourdough bread. If you're looking for a versatile dutch oven at a great price this is the one!

I purchsed in Oyster which is close to white. While others stated light colors will get brown spots on them, which is true - it comes clean off with barkeepers friend or baking soda and some elbow grease with a scrub daddy. Worth the effort. I keep this on my stove top because it's so pretty. I bake bread daily which comes out perfect and this dutch oven makes outstanding roasts. Just buy one!
Hoping Lodge comes out with more soft tones & pastels in the future.

I recently purchased the Lodge Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven, and it has quickly become my favorite kitchen companion. This versatile piece of cookware is truly a game-changer for home cooking.
The first thing that impressed me was its incredible heat performance. With the ability to withstand temperatures up to 500°F, I can broil, braise, bake, or roast virtually anything13. The heat distribution is remarkable—it evenly heats throughout the bottom and sidewalls, ensuring perfectly cooked meals every time3.
The porcelain enamel coating is a standout feature. Applied at extremely high temperatures, this glass-based coating creates a smooth, non-stick surface that makes cooking and cleaning a breeze23. I've noticed it promotes beautiful caramelization and resists staining, which is a huge plus for someone who loves to cook.
What I appreciate most is its versatility. Whether I'm making a hearty stew, a tender pot roast, or a batch of beans, the tightly fitting lid seals in moisture perfectly3. The light-colored interior is also fantastic—it makes it easy to monitor browning and develop a rich fond3.
Compared to more expensive brands like Le Creuset, the Lodge offers exceptional performance at a fraction of the price13. It's durable, easy to use, and has quickly become my go-to pot for almost every cooking method.
The only minor drawback is that the base is slightly smaller than some high-end models, which can make browning large batches of meat a bit more challenging3. However, this is a small trade-off for such an excellent piece of cookware.
I would absolutely reorder this Dutch oven without hesitation. It's a kitchen workhorse that combines style, performance, and value in one fantastic package.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great enamled dutch oven!
Reviewed in Canada on June 23, 2023
I purchased the 6qt enameled dutch oven in Caribbean Blue and am extremely happy with it. I have used it on the stove top and in the oven. This is the first enameled dutch oven that I have owned but I do own several other cast iron dutch ovens, mainly for camping and bread.

    Pros:
looks great - the blue is very similar to the Le Creuset that I have
    good size for family
off-white interior makes it easy to see what you are cooking
    retains heat very well
    cleans up easily
    great value for the money!
heavy because it is cast iron, but not too heavy
    good fitting lid
    can handle high temperatures
    nice big handles
    good heat distribution

    Cons:
I would have liked a less round bottom to increase cooking surface, but this really isn't a big problem.

If you want a good sized, attractive enameled dutch oven and don't want to pay a premium price for a Le Creuset or a Staub, I can heartily recommend this Lodge!

    Great enamled dutch oven!
