The river view and outside patio area were recently upgraded. The inn is on the main road and traffic noise could be heard. The inn is very old and the rooms and hallways are in need of renovation. Floors in room slant very noticeably and this is disorienting. Tiny rooms. Tiny closet. Sub standard bathroom. Sheetrock peeling. Coffee machine in room with 4-5 coffee pods but only 2 little milk cups. Inn charges $1.00 for each extra milk cup! About two tablespoons of milk! Would never go back. We did not like this place at all.

From your review, it seems as if you didn't research where you were booking. Our small and cozy Inn was built in 1875 as a farmhouse for a distant cousin of Abraham Lincoln. We have never advertised our Inn as a new modern facility. The grounds are beautiful, and we offer many amenities, which you chose not to participate in. Our amenities include a tavern serving cocktails, wines and beers along with non-alcoholic drinks as well. We have an award-winning restaurant which was voted in the top 10 best restaurants including Asia and Europe by Forbes Magazine. We serve an optional hot multi-course breakfast. Our small Inn is on the main road providing easy access for venturing out and exploring Vermont.

This property is the quintessential VT experience. It is close to town, quiet, on a beautiful landscape and very cozy. I had the delicious breakfasts daily and would recommend that all guests do so at least one morning. It is an old farmhouse and that is the charm, so there could be some sacrifices for the luxury hotel guest including a small shower, no TVs in your room, and an “older smell” to the property. However, this was my VT fantasy for a great experience. Book it! I highly recommend a stay

Great Inn, so clean and the beds were so comfortable. Mara, the owner was very friendly until she told us in a not so friendly way that we could no longer sit outside by the fireplace.

Thank you for staying with us! We loved having you. For the safety of all of our guests and under the policies of our insurance, we can't leave the fireplace unattended. It was the end of the night and we did need to put it out.

Comfy and Cozy Retreat in Woodstock VT
The Lincoln Inn is a cute, cozy getaway close to the heart of Woodstock VT. The rooms are well appointed with lovely furnishings and the patio is a great place to grab a drink at the end of a busy day.

Loved the covered bridge ….Mara was very accommodating! The chef ‘s grilled veggies for bkft were really good and her egg white omelet was So Fluffy & Delicious! YUM We were alittle concerned w/ 3 way extention plugs in bdr considering the age of the property ! Would have preferred One really comfortable chair vs the 2 straight back chairs in the yellow bdr! A fire in the frpl stove would have been really nice as the evenings were cooler & living room was chilly! …a nice ambiance too! Guests who chose not to partake in your 7course dining experience felt alittle Out of place and a fifth wheel…We understand or feel your focus is on those meals…. We absolutely loved everything about your breakfast : granola/jams/vegetables/egg white white omelets !

We spent two nights in the Inn, eating one night in the restaurant. The inn was perfectly satisfactory for an older place. Doors creaked, the floors were slightly crooked, the beds were older, but the real delight of the place was the gourmet restaurant at the Inn. We would highly recommend the 7 course Prefixe dinner. Imaginative, very unique, and truly delicious!

If you stay here, plan on at least one night of the seven-course chef tasting menu with the wine pairing -- though that might make negotiating the narrow staircase up to the second-floor bedrooms more challenging than usual. Lovely spot in a pretty town, and do take some time in the evening to sit by the river in one of those white Adirondack chairs, and watch the stars come out.

Exactly what I needed!
I went for a solo trip in order to recharge and have quiet relaxation. The Lincoln Inn delivered exactly that! The daily breakfast is amazing, with my preferences being remember and delivered without a hitch. The seven course meal by Chef is the best I have ever eaten, hands down. Anything, within reason, I asked for was delivered quickly and by good spirits. I will make the Lincoln Inn a new annual destination. But next time, I brings friends!

The Inn rests in a perfect setting next to a beautiful river. The rooms are clean and cozy and the staff goes out of their way to be helpful. The Inn's restaurant is outstanding with a chef who works magic presenting one meal after another as good if not better than those served in the finest dining establishments in the nation.

The owner was very friendly and wonderful to talk with and breakfast was amazing. The inn is beautiful and the whole area around the property is picture-perfect quaint Vermont woods. Since it's a converted farmhouse, the individual rooms aren't huge, but quite comfortable and the parlor provides plenty of room for sitting, reading, or chatting. We didn't get to eat at the restaurant this time, but definitely do so if you have the chance!

Family Friendly Inn that Feels Like Home
Marvelous little inn near the cute town of Woodstock, VT. The town and the inn look like movie sets for New England. There are six rooms (my family filled five of them), each well sized with up-to-date bathrooms and comfortable beds. The owner and the chef are both lovely and the other staff are friendly and accommodating. Our deal included breakfast - don't miss it, it is fantastic - everything is made to order and the home made jam is a treat. We ate at the hotel one night - the food was a gastronomic delight. We had started our vacation in Montreal, one of my favorite cities for food, but if anything, it felt like a step up in quality and imagination. I will definitely return whenever I want to see fall in New England again.

Hoping to return soon.
I had a wonderful but short visit at the Lincoln. The location is great, right outside of Woodstock. The property is wonderful, a large lawn extending right to the river where you can have a drink while sitting in an Adirondack chair. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I made the mistake of eating dinner before arriving so I missed the opportunity for a great dinner. The bar was cozy and breakfast was delicious. The tastiest and freshest fruit salad I’ve ever had. It made me regret even more that I missed have dinner at the Lincoln. The rooms are what you would expect from an old inn but everything else makes it a great place to stay. I hope to return soon.

Woodstock, VT is a wonderful town to visit. Although the Lincoln Inn is a beautiful property it was a little disappointing. Normally, you would not need air conditioning in VT. We came on 2 of the hottest days of the year. No air conditioning, no fans. The Inn was very clean. Smaller than I expected.

Nice location- pretty setting. much potential-
So much potential--BUT--Need to have a entry sign to which door to use to get into Inn to register. Need to be able to turn on lights in library early for early risers ( before 8AM). Once your in and it's past 10PM I don't want to feel like everything other than your room and is in lockdown until 8AM next morning. Ridiculous to have TV with no ability to watch recent news- Room TV is "smart" TV and can't access local or national stations for news unless you have "smart" accounts. A lot of road noise because its hard by Rt. 4. Host tries very hard but it is difficult to feel comfortable- Most B&B's have you feeling like your a visiting friend. We felt like we were at a high end restaurant where they let us in without reservations and seated us next to the kitchen. This Inn is a small restaurant first (EXCEPT-can't eat here for dinner without reservations made WELL in advance- perfect for a foodie-). Room for the night 2nd and welcoming comfort 3rd. If you want a special dinner (remember those reservations) and just a room to lay down in maybe this is for you but this location has you wondering why you didn't stay at a regular hotel just down the street. Kind of the point isn't it?

Quaint inn, very clean and spacious room.
The bed was the only "complaint" as it was very hard. We chatted with other guests who also mentioned the "very firm beds". Other than that it was a lovely inn, close location to Woodstock and featured delicious food by the in-house chef.

I would not stay here again. I found the host to be incredibly snooty and lacking any warmth. When you run an inn it is my impression that the owner should be welcoming. We also found that she was not very happy to have our almost 4 year old on the premises, who was not acting out or misbehaving. We found breakfast to be kind of bland for an inn that prided itself on it's culinary expertise. The shower also didn't drain properly which was a major annoyance when my wife barely went into it. The room we stayed in was extremely small and uncomfortable. On our recent trip through most of Vermont we stayed in three Inns and this one was the worst in our opinion.

A last minute reservation that was the best decision I have made in a long time. The Inn was perfect. Immaculately cared for property. Great views of the river. Close to Woodstock and Killington. Absolutely fabulous innkeepers, friendly, courteous and wonderful people. The Michelin * chef made the most delicious breakfast with eggs cooked to perfection ... and presentation was so artistic. I cannot say enough good things about this inn and restaurant.

Vermont Comfort - And A Covered Bridge!
Situated in an historic farmhouse along US4 and just outside Woodstock, Vermont, the Lincoln Inn At The Covered Bridge was a step back to an easier time and a very pleasant surprise. The place radiated coziness, from the dining rooms, to the library, to the very comfortable guest rooms. We arrived at dusk, and Mara, the hostess, could not have been more welcoming, providing a brief tour before showing us to our room. While we opted to try out a restaurant in town for dinner, the inn provides an evening meal, by way of a single seating, that enjoys an excellent reputation, and gave us something to think about around a possible return visit. We returned from dinner rested and ready to read in the snug, well-stocked library. Next morning, a walk on the grounds and a stop at the adjacent covered bridge invigorated us before heading to the breakfast room for a made-to-order repast. We'll most certainly consider a return. NB: We think the Inn a more suitable for couples and those with older (upper teens) children.
