Six friends get together during lockdown for their weekly zoom call. It's Haley’s turn to organise an activity and instead of a quiz, she’s arranged for a Medium to conduct a séance. Bored and feeling mischievous, Jemma decides to have some fun and invents a story about a boy in her school who hanged himself. However, her prank gives license for a demonic presence to cross over, taking on the guise of the boy in Jemma’s made-up story. The friends begin noticing strange occurrences in their homes as the evil presence begins to make itself known, and they soon realise that they might not survive the night. A SHUDDER ORIGINAL.

For being filmed with such limitations (filmed entirely on Zoom), Host is far better than it has any right to be. The plot is a simple one with a modern twist, preying on the worlds anxieties and PTSD of pandemic lockdown.
fun use of modern technology and circumstances, albeit a bit derivative and predictable.
For a film under an hour bloody good! watch on own in dark, you,ll get your horror fix, and possibly a sleepless night!
Of all the zoom meeting style horrors I think this one does it best.
Considering how much each of the cast and crew had to prepare in their own homes, this is such a fantastic feat amidst lockdown. The tension is still just as high on a rewatch!
