1) I bought these to put on 2 different refrigerators. Being that the plugs are behind both units the only way I know that they are still protected is to pull the refrigerator out away from the wall as the LED lights are in the front of the plug. It would be much more convenient if the two LED lights were positioned on the TOP of the plug, where they would be visible from all angles!
2) the paperwork provided with the plugs (the Guarantee & instructions, the Conditions and the Exceptions) are all in Spanish. With 78% of the people in the US only speaking English, these are of no help should they be needed to submit a claim. I suppose I could use a translator, but that would require me manual typing everything in. Not an issue for using the plug, but a definite Customer Service issue for those of us that want to read over the claims information!
It's also much smaller than how the pictures depict it. It doesn't block the other outlet as long as the plug is a normal one (not a weird shape or a brick) and it isn't super thick. I'm using this for our refrigerator and it doesn't stick out much more than just the normal plug did.
I have all of our appliances on these types of surge protectors, but those others ones are bulkier. I think I will be replacing those with this type as they expire.
Phones need to be protected from power surges and this is the only thing on the market that can protect a phone line that isn't one of those giant bars about 8" long with a thick stiff 6' cord. I bought one spare, probably need to get a couple more because every time I need a replacement for something I depend on, it's discontinued. When a lightning strike hits, the surge protector will burn out (I've had it happen multiple times) but keeps the phone line safe. Had to get rid of cordless phones because of dangerous RF radiation so now I have old-time landline phones all over the house like I did 30 years ago. Each one needs to be protected.
