Canadian singer/bassist/multi-instrumentalist Saya Gray has a sound steeped in psychedelic pop and alternative R&B. Gray initially garnered attention as a touring and studio performer before releasing her solo debut, 2022's 19 Masters.

Born in 1995 in Toronto, Canada, Gray grew up in a musical household with a father who plays trumpet and produces and a Japanese-born mother who founded the independent music school Discovery Through the Arts. She studied music from a young age, eventually learning how to play bass, guitar, and sundry other instruments. While still in her teens, she began playing professionally, touring with artists like Daniel Caesar, Willow, and Liam Payne. She also began posting videos to social media where she developed a large following. In 2022, she made her solo debut with the full-length 19 Masters, a low-key, largely acoustic production showcasing her cross-pollinated pop, psych, and R&B sound. ~ Matt Collar
