Product Description
Whether you're looking for something to wear to the office, something for your next adventure, or everyday wear, your new watch is waiting. For durability, toughness, and classic style, our watches withstand nearly any adventure you can think of.
Casio
With the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.
Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward.
The new W735H series offer many outstanding functions. At the touch of a button, the display can be brightly illuminated in a fashionable color. A second location time can be set and called up. Ideal if you frequently make overseas calls. Elapsed time, split time and final time are measured with 1/100-sec accuracy. The watch can measure times of up to 24 hours. For fans of precision: the countdown timers help you to remember specific or recurring events by giving off an audible signal at a preset time. They The time can be set to the nearest second and up to 24 hours in advance - Ideal for people who need to take medicines every day or those who do interval training. The daily alarm reminds you of events that recur every day, by emitting an audible signal at the set time. The vibration alarm discreetly reminds you of important appointments, without emitting a loud signal. The button tones for using the mode button can be turned off. This means that the watch no longer beeps when switching from one function to another. Preset alarm or countdown timers remain active when the button tones are deactivated. Once set, the automatic calendar always displays the correct date. Times can be displayed in either a 12-hour or 24-hour format. The surface of the watch glass is domed. This offers a high level of stability and resistance against pressure. Natural resin is the ideal material for wrist straps thanks to its extremely durable and flexible properties. 10 years, 1 battery. Newly developed electronics ensure significantly lower energy consumption. Perfect for swimming and snorkeling: the watch is water resistant to 10 bar / 100 meters. The meters value does not relate to a diving depth but to the air pressure used in the course of the water resistance test. (ISO 2281)

Here are a few things I learned about it:
*I have somewhat bad eyesight and I found it very easy to read the LCD digits on the watch.
*The watch was very easy to set up.
*Has what want you want from a basic watch (i.e durability, design, dual time, split, alarm). I would like to also mention the watch's band only has one singular pin.
*Vibration alarm is only 10 seconds, it's like a faint phone notification vibration and it does it roughly 7 times. The beep alarm is 20 seconds. There is also a count down alarm which you could manage to time it with when you wake up for another extra alarm. The ability for it to wake you up depends on what type of sleeper you are, I personally think people who are light sleepers are going to be the only ones waking up from the vibration as it is just too short.
*The watch's illuminator is actually pretty good when trying to view in dark scenarios.
*Buttons are somewhat recessed into the frame so you won't really be accidentally pressing anything.

LOOKS - Personally I think the Timex looks more modern, more "socially acceptable" if you're inclined to wear it in many situations. The Casio is a great G-Shock-like look. Whatever criteria Casio places upon naming a watch a G-Shock, this watch is not. Still, it looks tough and I would think it is tough enough.
WEIGHT - Both watches are lightweight - the new durable resins simply do not require weight for strength. Don't despair over lightweight with either.
DISPLAY - The display on the Timex is much larger and all functions are easier to see, although the smaller LCD digits of the Casio are bolder. Still, I prefer the Timex because I never had to squint at little icons or labels.
OPERATION AND PROGRAMMING - Both are fine. You fiddle with them, you read a little of the manuals, you'll do fine. The Timex functions with Timex functionality, the Casio with Casio functionality. I do prefer the Casio's instant changeover to another function when you press a button. The Timex will, for example, display "CHRONO" and then go into the chrono mode. No biggee.
ALARMS AND FEATURES - The Timex has more, so many more in fact that you have the option to hide some of them (which I did, although I still kept more readily available than were offered on the Casio).
WAKING YOU UP - They differ here. The Casio beeps (or vibrates, OR COMBINATION) - and the vibration is 7 vibrations, and the beep is pretty loud. The Timex (I returned it, so I am speaking from recent memory) vibrates 5 times and then a short while later (sort of like a reminder) vibrates 5 times again. I do not think the Casio provides for a combination vibrate/beep event. Another point to note is that on the Timex in combo mode, the vibration goes off first, giving you a chance to awake and shut it off prior to the beeping (waking maybe you and folks around you).
FRUSTRATION FOR ME - I sleep like an appliance unplugged from the wall. I wore both watches to sleep (different nights, and/or set them for different times). NEITHER successfully woke me (by vibration only) out of a sound sleep. There's a new Casio being offered (more costly) called the GD350. It has a vibration alarm. I do not expect it to be a whole lot more vibration-effective than this Casio, which I returned. Perhaps I am wrong in that expectation. I do still like the potential to quietly vibrate me into some notification DURING THE DAY, when I am around folks, so the vibration alarm remains a nice feature, on either watch.
BATTERY LIFE - Here's where the Casio wins hands-down. The Casio tells us it has a TEN YEAR battery. I LOVE that! The Timex is likely a year or two or three, depending upon how many times you ask it to vibrate, beep, etc. Ten years is a wonderful thing for a watch battery, and if longevity of function is your priority, the Casio wins hands-down. BTW - the new Casio GD350 says the battery is good for 5 years. Still pretty excellent. All of the watch instructions tell you battery life is based upon usage of function.
MY BOTTOM LINE - I am wearing the Timex. I returned the Casio. They are both great watches. I still wish a vibrating alarm watch could wake ME up, but likely it would need to be 110 volt-powered, plugged into the wall, activating a kitchen blender motor strapped to my wrist.

Bought it because of the vibrate alarm could have done with it being a little longe but watch dies what I want 👍
It does kinda appear like G-Shock but remains bit more understated in all black with white/silver labels. I use the CT and Stop Watch through the day, timing tasks and cooking
The vibration alarm is very quiet, lasts/buzzes for 10 seconds and does not wake my wife beside me, but it while is not very strong to wake me from deep sleep, it will work discreetly all other times, like the hour signal.
And if used with countdown timer [CT], you can treat it as 2 alarms, CT serving as time limit or pre-alarm, ie sleep 4.5 hours 3 cycles, then set the daily alarm to time near the 4.5h from say :00, :15, :30, :45 min mark..
Highly recommend this model and the few others like it if you value the stealth vibration alarm and countdown mode.
Update: 8 months later, holds up well to repeated exposure to isopropyl alcohol (Covid) and bleach water in laundry. Strap is fine so far as well. The mineral glass will scratch but baking soda paste can buff it well enough. Below $40 on sale, this watch is great.

First impression with this new one is that the materials used have somewhat a cheaper feel, especially the band (a more plastic feel than the material used in past generations). Other than that, it a the exact same watch with minor cosmetic variations. Probably Casio decided the old adage applies, and if it's not broke, don't fix it.
Same watch, same functionality, same accuracy, same general quality (again, so far...not expecting 30 years out of this one, but who knows). If you ever used a Casio watch, you will find yourself at home with this one. No complaints so far (3 months of daily beating / usage so and still like day one, which again, it's what's expected).
In short, if you have / are a teenager (maybe it's too big for a kid under 12 or 13, but ok for a teen or any adult size) or you're an adult (male or female, this is not fashion piece under any means, but a utilitarian time telling machine) and need a watch with the functions a watch must have without any fancy, this is the perfect watch (with the plus of a ridiculously low price tag...)
If you need a swimming watch (not a diver one, that's not it), you work in construction, military, first responders, etc and need a sturdy piece of hardware, without needing insane protection specs (that unless you're a navy diver or any other really specific type of job, and if you do, your watch is part of your job toolkit anyways) this is a perfect watch that will do the job and you can still use it to jog around the neighborhood in case you have the free time (all you need to know is for how long you've been running or how much left you have to get in the 80% of the test, all the rest, is for another type of users).
Oh, the vibration alarm is a plus that wasn't there before...if you're to wake up for your 4am shift, you don't need to wake-up anyone else. If you're a student and need to be reminded 10 minutes the end of the test and not disturb the rest of the class, again, that's what you need, or if you are lap swimming and need to be reminded at x time, the vibration is perfect for it.
Recommended. So far 4 stars, because of the plasticky feel of the band. I don't think Amazon -or me- will be (not as we know it today) around in 30 years. But if it last 30 years, and either of us is still around, I will be back to change my review and give it 5 stars.
