ALPACA AND WOOL
UNITED IN NATURAL HARMONY

SUPPORTIVE AND COOL WOOL TOPPER

STANDARD VERSION:
COOL & SUPPORTIVE

We craft our firmer, Standard Alpaca Wool Mattress Topper with 100% natural alpaca, GOTS organic certified wool, and GOTS organic certified cotton. Our Standard Alpaca Wool Mattress Topper adds a light, breathable layer to your bed. Two layers of GOTS organic certified wool sandwich a thick, 2-inch layer of natural alpaca. The two high-performing, renewable fabrics work together to provide supportive comfort. Four hand-stitched elastic straps keep the topper in place, so you don’t have to worry about bunching or sliding while you sleep.

LUXURY TOPPER IS HOTEL PLUSH

LUXURY PLUSH:
5-STAR HOTEL SLEEP

A softer, more plush version of our Alpaca Wool Mattress Topper, our Luxury Plush adds a decadent, pillowy layer to your bed. Like our Standard Alpaca Wool Topper, we stitch the cover from GOTS-certified organic cotton in a 233 thread count percale weave that provides a lightweight, breathable, and crisp feel and eliminates shedding of the alpaca fiber. The inside is made entirely of silky, natural baby alpaca fiber ethically sourced from the Peruvian Andes. This is the softest wool on the animal (not the age of the alpaca). This sustainable, luxurious fiber is lightweight, naturally hypoallergenic, and moisture- and temperature-regulating.

100% NATURAL ALPACA

NATURAL ALPACA
FROM PERU

We handcraft our wool mattress toppers with 100% natural alpaca fiber to provide a luxurious comfort layer. Softer than silk and incredibly sustainable, alpaca wool is one of the most sought-after, eco-friendly fibers in the world. It’s highly regarded because of its lightweight, delicate texture, durability, and moisture- and temperature-regulating properties. It’s cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Alpaca fiber is also naturally water and flame-resistant.

CRISP, BREATHABLE ORGANIC COTTON

BREATHABLE
ORGANIC COTTON

We cover our alpaca toppers with premium, GOTS-certified organic cotton in a 233-thread count percale weave. This tight, high-quality weave creates a crisp, airy, breathable structure and a more lightweight, comfy topper that only gets softer with time. Organic cotton is also a superior natural fiber. It wicks away moisture for cool, restful sleep, uses less water than conventional cotton, and is responsibly grown without pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers.

100% ORGANIC WOOL

WOOL PERFORMS
NATURALLY BETTER

We ethically source our GOTS organic certified wool from a farming and herding collective that we jointly own in the Himalayas. Why is wool so important? Because of its singular thermoregulation properties. Wool wicks away moisture adds bounce and allows air to circulate naturally. We're committed to clean processing — no chemicals or crimping and no toxic flame retardants. We add our organic wool in two layers, each about 1 inch thick (350 gsm) at the top and bottom, enveloping the alpaca. It helps keep you cool when it’s warm and warm when it’s cool.

A BETTER MATTRESS TOPPER

HEALTHY & NATURAL

Because we craft both our Alpaca Wool Mattress Topper and Plush Baby Alpaca Mattress Topper entirely with natural materials, you can rest easy knowing it’s held to the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility. Our toppers are made without toxic chemicals and adhesives, synthetic materials, chemical flame-retardants, or other harmful substances. So our toppers are better for your family, the environment, and our workers.

  • Shipping & Delivery

Our Alpaca Wool Mattress Toppers ship FedEx. At this time, furniture, mattress, and/or bedding orders can not be coordinated to arrive at the same time.

  • GOTS CERTIFIED ORGANIC WOOL

The benefits of wool’s complex and natural physio-chemical structure are endless: wool wicks away moisture, keeps your bed smelling fresh and acts as yet another all-natural fire barrier. It’s breathable — both warm and cool when you need it. Its natural crimp gives it bounce, body, and soft support characteristics. It’s also non-allergenic (ideal for those who suffer allergies to feather and down or synthetic bedding products) and a renewable resource. No additives or synthetics are added to the wool. We use two layers of pure, naturally crimped wool (800 gsm total) above and below to nestle the Alpaca. We do not blend any rayon, polyester, or flame-retarding chemicals with our wool.

  • NATURAL ALPACA

STANDARD: We craft our firmer, Standard Alpaca Wool Mattress Topper with natural alpaca. Two layers of GOTS-certified organic wool sandwich a thick, 2-inch layer of natural alpaca. Alpaca fiber is naturally hypoallergenic, mold-resistant, water-repellent, and naturally flame-retarding. Alpaca is an amazingly soft, luxurious, and silky natural fiber.

LUXURY PLUSH: The inside of our Plush Baby Alpaca Mattress Topper is made entirely of silky, natural baby alpaca fiber ethically sourced from the Peruvian Andes. This refers to the finest, softest wool on the animal (typically the chest), and not its age, “baby alpaca” is a sustainable, luxurious fiber that’s lightweight, naturally hypoallergenic, and moisture- and temperature-regulating.

  • GOTS CERTIFIED ORGANIC COTTON

For a luxurious and premium finish, we use GOTS-certified organic cotton in a soft, natural color. No polyester fiber is used. Responsibly and ethically sourced from India, this durable textile is stitched in a diamond pattern to elegantly finish our Alpaca Topper and as a cotton canvas base.

  • CARE

To protect your alpaca wool mattress topper, we recommend a mattress protector. Spot clean only with natural cleaners. Do not machine wash. Do not iron or bleach. Dry completely after spot cleaning. Occasional airing will keep it fresh and clean. Rotate and fluff your alpaca topper to help retain loft.

  • WARRANTY & RETURN POLICY

Try your Avocado Alpaca Wool Mattress Topper for at least 30 days. If it's not right for you, you can request a return and refund within 100 days, according to the terms of our Sleep Trial Policy. Stained, unsanitary, or damaged mattress toppers are not eligible for return. The topper is also covered by our 1-Year Limited Warranty. All returns should be placed and shipped in the original packaging and box.

  • LAW LABEL

law label is a legally required label on mattress products. It specifies the interior filling materials using government-regulated language. Few companies share this information before your purchase. We believe differently. Here’s what the legal tag on an Avocado Alpaca Pillow Topper says: Made in Mexico with internal materials (based on weight) consisting of Natural Alpaca (65%) and Natural Wool Fiber (35%), plus an Organic Cotton Cover. Note: NO polyurethane foams, NO memory foams, NO synthetic foams, NO latex blends, NO chemical adhesives, and NO chemical flame retardants are used! Read Our Law Labels

  • CLIMATE NEUTRAL CERTIFIED

As a Climate Neutral Certified company since 2019, we've measured Avocado's annual cradle-to-consumer emissions, offset them by investing in climate change solutions, and started taking real action to reduce our emissions. We also recognize our offsets and reductions aren't enough. Solving climate change will require systemic solutions. That's why, through our partnerships with Ceres and the American Sustainable Business Network, we also advocate for state and federal policies that support equitable solutions to the climate crisis.

  • PROJECT ZERO WASTE

We're proud to be certified by UL Solutions for a landfill diversion rate of 85%. That means only 15% of our manufacturing waste ends up in the landfill — we upcycle or recycle the rest. Since we began Project Zero Waste in 2020, we've been a pioneer in the space, increasing our waste diversion rate by 33%. We are the first mattress and bedding company to achieve this. But we aren't done yet. Our goal is at least a 90% diversion rate. Read more about Project Zero Waste.
