The bedroom was impressively large with a good view over the river and deer park (although sadly the weather was damp and grey during our short stay). The decor is very good and in keeping with the interesting history of the place, even with a gallery of old photos. In all quite luxurious.

An exclusive 42-bedroom luxury castle hotel. With 4 Red Stars and 3 Rosettes awarded by the AA for excellent facilities, this is the highest rated hotel in Yorkshire. Swinton Park is the ancestral home of the Cunliffe-Lister family and is set in 200 acres of parkland, lakes and gardens. The castle is surrounded by the family estate in which guests have access to a Bird of Prey Centre, rivers, moorland and beautiful countryside bordering the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The restored Georgian stables have been converted into a state-of-the-art cookery school. The hotel has a civil licence for weddings and 5 function rooms equipped for meetings, conferences and presentations. The Spa and Country Club has a gym, an 18-metre indoor pool and a hydrotherapy pool, steam rooms and a sauna. The spa garden offers an al fresco sauna and shower, as well as a 10-metre outdoor pool with bio-filtered water. The spa has 8 treatment suites and relaxation rooms.
