As far as for an LED TV goes, I am highly impressed. Originally I had it intended to get an OLED Sony model but as I plan to do a lot of gaming with it I was concerned about screen burn. This model has decent input latency, refresh time, the visual processing of 4K is impressive, but it does falter when it comes to areas of the screen that should be black. That is because of the array of LEDs, which sometimes have a little bleed. That said, it's not highly noticeable, unless you're comparing it to their OLED TV. The smart features and response from the menus are fast and easy to use. I had some issues at first with the setup connecting to Wifi. I have a old Bose sound bar, and the speakers built in to the TV are comparable if not better to it. I had a been gifted a 5 yr old Samsung 4K TV by a friend which only lasted a few months, so I went to my backup to my old HD Sony TV with which I didn't want to part... However, I can only describe the difference between this TV, my prior Samsung and my old Sony as the first time I ever eyeglasses on.

Our first smart TV, replacing a Samsung HDTV that worked well for us many years. Paired with a Perlesmith swivel stand, it's perfect size for tabletop viewing in the living room. I'm a somewhat technical person and found the setup easy and intuitive. Easily found and identified the cable box and paired with the remote. Streaming has been so easy now, I've already cut the chord and using YouTube TV, and saving $500 a year in service. Heck, that savings itself pays for this set in about 27 months! On-board sound is the only detractor, but I have it hooked up to my HiFi receiver through optical audio cable and sounds great through it. If you can't do that, get a soundbar. Not a gamer so can't comment on that. Bluetooth pairs with my Bose headphones, which will be handy for single person viewing. Super to have built-in Chromecast, as well. One thing I haven't figured out its how reset HDMI port setup to remove the cable box, which it perceives as still connected, though I removed it. All I see I can do is hide the connection from within setup. Hoping I'll get many years of solid service out of this.

Edit: Year and a half later and having what I think are software issues. Sometimes screen goes completely dark or splits into side by side images while streaming. Workaround has been to unplug and discharge power for 15 seconds or so to discharge capacitors, then replug and restart. Other than that inconvenience, been excellent streaming viewing.

Bought in December 2021(55in) for my husband, works perfectly with the ps5. The game pictures are nice and sharp, as well as regular tv/streaming services. The payment options are a huge plus for the quality and size. The picture is nice and bright, I absolutely love the smart features! I discovered the living decor themes and I really enjoy those for background noise while I study. 10/10, would purchase again :)

I see plenty of 3 star or 2 star reviews saying ohh it’s a great tv but not for gaming. Let me try and explain,
This tv comes standard without auto HDR and a bunch of very important things. First you NEED to plug a ps5 or series x into the hdmi 3 and 4 slots. They are the only 2.1 slots that can support it, next make sure the plugs you are using either came with the console or say they can support up to 120 at 4K. You then go into the TVs settings and change HDMI signal format to enhanced format. Now you can take full effect of this awesome tv. Make sure the console has all the 4K features turned on there are plenty of videos explaining how. The Tv does need a lot of adjustment but that’s almost all products they can’t tell from the factory if you’re in a bright or dark room or that you have lights reflecting in the TVs screen. I know after using both consoles that the tvs 120 at 4K feature does work. Very happy with purchase!!!

I'm still testing this TV, so this review is preliminary. So far, picture quality is great: brightness & vivid colors is what stands out the most. I bought this TV primarily for gaming, so I'm disappointed that variable refresh rate (VRR) & auto low-latency mode (ALLM) are not available... "yet." I'm also not a fan of the fact that only 2 of the 4 HDMI ports are HDMI 2.1 capable.

My biggest issue right now is quality control: there is a piece of debris, 1×2 mm in size, behind the top-center portion of the screen; it's only noticeable during bright areas of that section of the screen, but annoying nonetheless. It looks like it's a piece of black plastic that broke-off from inner components, and/or got trapped when the screen was installed at the factory.

Setting up your connected devices can be configured automatically, once initiated. But I've experienced said configuration become undone (as if the TV forgot it had already configured the device). This was an issue with my cable box when I suddenly lost sound through its input. Re-configuring the cable box corrected the issue.

I also had issues renaming my input devices. Once you make an edit but try to change it again, the on-screen keyboard doesn't allow any update; you will be kicked-out of the edit screen. "Restarting" the TV (not just turning it off & on) is the only way to correct it.

Dislike: It wants to know a bit too much private information for stellar quality. There’s a Disney+ key built into the remote.
Overall Sony is on top of the game.

Is always telling us to sign in to our YouTube tv account sometimes several times a day. We have 4 big screen tvs in the house and this is the only one to do this.
The picture is great if you are looking straight at it but if you are at more than a 45 degree angle it is a lousy picture.

I wanted to write this after 1 year, apparently in other reviews there could be a problem in the first year but well NOPE.

I LOVE IT. The colors are bright and the hd quality is undeniable, unfortunately I am not a gamer but I am a movie lover (... So I almost regret that I didn't pick the 75 inches ! 😆 ) I never had any deception with sony and it keeps getting better. Many options on it, it's perfect. The sound -as any other tv- is "ok" until you add quality speakers. With my soundbar (ambeo) it's incredible with the HDMI wire.

The only little thing : sometimes it lags in the first seconds after you open it. Once you're on an app it disappears. But it doesn't happen often enough to make me hate it.

My personnal + : the remote. Thin, lightweight, easy to use and really long so you don't loose it. That shape is pleasant. (I had roku remotes, so cheaply made it's not working half of the time... )

      5.0 out of 5 stars PS5 companion

What to say? It’s Sony. Pretty self explanatory.
Runs smooth (although I’m not fan of android tv), I have my Apple TV 4K hooked on it. I am able to get 4K HDR with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos no problem. I have my sound bar that’s plugged in via HDMI Arc and the sound is amazing.
Now, PlayStation 5 buyers, this has been rated the best television that’s non-OLED for gaming. It has 120hz refresh rate playing Cold War, 4K HDR active all the time and it’s simply amazing. My death/kill ratio has been doubled since I am on this TV. everything is so crisp, it’s scary!!
It uses full array LED, not as neat as OLED but for the price you certainly get a lot for your money.
It features 2x HDMI 2.1, so it is future proof for a while! You won’t regret it.

      Pro's:
      Great audio
      Awesome picture
      High HDR brightness
      Really good upscaling
      Fast processor
      Local Dimming
      Good calibration of picture

      Con's:
      Viewing angle could be better
Reflections are not horrible but standard across most TV's
Software can be buggy at times (not very often)

      Thoughts:
I love this TV. I personally think Sony is one of the best TV brands out there. They have really good screens and built in sound if you don't have a sound bar. The best part of their TV's are that they use google/android TV. That software for the TV is so much better than the other brands for the sole fact that you can get every app you would need. My brother has a Samsung and he couldn't get the twitch app for example. I watch quite a bit of twitch and definitely couldn't get a TV without being able to have the top streaming service's app. I think that's super weird. Granted I think they have it now, but a year and a bit after owning the TV, they didn't have it initially. All the main features of a good TV is here. If you can't afford OLED, then local dimming is the next best thing. The local dimming could be a little better but its still great. Sony also did a really good job in the picture presets. The manufactured picture calibration is better than most I've seen but manual calibration is always recommended. I've played with some of the settings that other sites have recommended and found a good in-between that works for me.

The TV physically is on the thicker side. I found that thicker TV's are usually have better audio though so I tend to try and get them. The feet that come with the TV are fine but they're stationary and are really wide. They clip on on the left and right side so you'll need a table that is the same width as the TV. I currently have it on a TV mount and works fine that way. The power/menu button is on the bottom middle of the TV which I don't like personally because I have lights that use a camera to match what's on the screen which works better when looking up at the TV. It doesn't block the sensors but I can't use the button anymore without removing the camera.

Overall, this TV from Sony is really good and a fan favourite from a lot of people that have purchased it. I don't think I'll ever go for any other brand unless it has google tv because that truly is a game changer.

I went back and forth between this and the LG C1 before settling on this due to the price difference. I've had it for a few weeks now and could not be happier with it. My previous set did not have HDMI 2.1 or HDR, so this is a significant upgrade for me. I read a few calibration recommendations and set this up in a matter of minutes with the most commonly suggest tweaks. I used to view most of my streaming content through my PS5 but the built in apps are just as snappy, so I've switched over to using those. The HDR calibration was easy and there's been some "wow" moments where I realized the color and HDR were really popping in certain movies or games (Blade Runner 2049/Gran Tourism tracks at sunset). I don't use the built in speaker so I can't give any feedback on that aspect. I found the HDMI ports still accessible even with a pretty low profile mount, which I read was a common complain ahead of time. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Stop reading and buy one.

Really loving the 55" TV, one thing that did surprise me we're how far apart the legs were which meant I had to buy a different stand from Amazon that fit my normal sized IKEA TV stand. Tbe picture quality is absolutely stunning and as advertised and gaming has been buttery smooth post the firmware update. The Netflix calibrated and IMAX enhanced modes are not showing up as options so not sure if that's going to be a software update later. I would say all in all, it's a great TV that is future proofing due to new ATSC mode, gaming features (VRR, ALLM, 2.1) so I would recommend a buy
