Q: Is this an everyday vacuum or just a carpet cleaner? Can this shampoo the carpet as well? Does it kills the fleas in the carpet?

A: I've never known a carpet cleaner, in itself, to kill fleas. You need treatments specifically targeting those. (You might try adding a little Dawn Dish Soap to the cleaning solution and to your dog's bath, though. It's as safe as any shampoo and is known to kill fleas.)
submitted byMarshaRme - 5 years agoA: This is not meant to be a vacuum. You need to vacuum with a regular vacuum prior to using this carpet cleaner as it will clump up a bunch of hairs if not but it will generally pick up any other hairs regular vacuuming does not catch as well and you have to clean out the unit after. I am not sure about fleas though. I have 2 rescue dogs and they both get monthly Frontline flea treatments so I have never noticed any fleas. I apologize that I cannot help you with that answer. They do piddle on the carpet sometimes so this is great especially if I need to spot clean. My routine is to vacuum first then use this as a carpet cleaner. They have a couple of different Bissell brand products to choose from ranging from Pet Antibacterial Cleaners and Deep Cleaners which works wonderfully in my opinion. I am very happy with my Carpet Cleaner. It does take time to clean and you have to allow time dry with no walking on it unless you have clean, bare feet. I hope this helps. Best of luck to you.

Q: How does this model perform on shag like area carpet? The carpet is Olefin and about 3/4 of an inch deep.

A: It did a great job on my large area rug that is “shag” like. It is a beautiful rug but the high pile attracts a lot of dirt. I’ve only gone over it once (have two large dogs and it is in a high traffic area that hasn’t been deep cleaned in over a year) and it already looks (and feels) so much more clean. Highly recommend!

This is literally the loudest sound i've ever heard. It sounds like a helicopter is floating a foot above your house. There is no power button so as soon as you plug it in you are instantly deaf. Also smelled like it was on fire when i plugged it in first time for five minutes. Kind of want to return and get a Hoover, as my last bisell starting smoking and making a burning smell. This was the replacement but one use and it’s equally as trash. Sad I threw the box out. Still might try and take it back to target

First, the trigger stopped working after 2 uses, which only included a stair landing that’s approximately 6 ftx 4 ft. Also, when attaching the handheld brushes, the main bristles continue to spin. The main cleaner is too bulky to use on stairs, so when using the handheld, the vacuum slipped and the cord immediately got sucked into the machine and stripped the cord resulting in smoke and sparks. After 3x of minimal use since May, I will never purchase Bissell products again. I will provide pictures if requested, cleaner is already in the trash, though. Bissell did agree to fix the cleaner; however it’s not worth packing up the entire cleaner.

Suction works well. Bristles don’t stop spinning when upright or when using hand tool. Hand tool spay is very positional and hardly works. Ergonomically difficult to carry and move around house.

I ordered this unit 5 months ago and used it 7 times. After 2nd time of unassembling/cleaning the device completly lost suction. I work on medical equipment so I am qualified to work on a carpet shampooer. Called Target and they said they will not replace the unit or honor the warranty as its over 3 months (by 1 month, big whoop). So I called Bissel who has been a HUGE pain to deal with. I have had to send them 10 pictures of my unit just to get a part on order. I still dont have it and today I requested the part number so I can just order it . I recommend ordering from Amazon and NOT ordering a Bissel .

I wanted to love it, it cleaned the carpet but it did not suck up all of the water. I had to use my old carpet cleaner ( thank God I didn’t throw it out) to suck up the water water in my carpet. The solution stinks too. I would most definitely pick a different cleaner. I returned mine.

Pros: smart design, I guess. It was easy to fill the water and pull out the dirty water tank Cons: 1. Very loud: My Apple watch kept sending me loud noise notifications, around 80 to 85 dbl. The average airplane noise level during the cruise is around 75 dbl and 80-85 dbl during takeoff. This machine is very loud. 2. It is cumbersome (heavy!) to carry the stairs up and down and push them around the carpeted areas. 3. Spray nozzle malfunction: even without pulling the nozzle, it kept spraying the water, which made the carpets extremely damp. The product says it dries 30 minutes after cleaning, but it took several hours overnight to dry the treated areas.

This worked great the first couple of times. I was impressed with hrs cleaning ability on my light gray carpets! Unfortunately, the clean water tank got a hole in it somehow. It almost looks like the plastic melted. That’s a huge issue. I used some super glue thinking I could get some more use of it. That worked. Until it started leaking somewhere else! It leaves puddles on the floor if i have to leave it sit for just a few seconds while I plug the cord into a different outlet to reach other areas. It fully soaked the carpet and took almost an entire day to dry. I tried to suck up as much as possible me but it just kept leaking. I also had trouble using the handheld tool bc the water wouldnt spray out consistently. Total junk. I put it in the trash. It was no cheap either. So disappointed.

First time using this machine I could smell something burning. It wasn’t long after that I noticed the clean water container had leaked and soaked my carpet pretty bad. We had to hurry and rent a machine from HEB to extract the water from our carpet before it ruined the padding underneath.

If you cherish your life DO NOT BUY. I’m a mom of five so I carpet clean every 6 months. Unfortunately, my old Bissell gave out on me so I went and purchased this one. Should have read the reviews. While carpet cleaning today my little one needed me to wipe his butt. I put the carpet cleaner on the tile and took care of him. I came back and almost died. The water/soap tanked leaked all over the floor. I slipped, hit the back of my head on the wall, and landed so hard on my shoulder. I literally laid there and cried. I couldn’t move. My head, should, back, and neck hurt so bad. It should not have leaked and so much at that. Really bad Bissell, really bad. Now I’m going to wait for my oldest to get home so I can go to urgent care.

Needs to be recalled. A shockingly poorly designed and cheaply manufactured piece of garbage. During/after first use: main unit sprays did not work consistently, intake clogged, spurted out dirty water that didn't make it to intake container. Attachment sprays never worked. A piece of the main unit literally broke off, during the very first use. This was probaly designed for a single use, but couldn't even live up to those low standards. Who is designing these things? And when will Dyson come up with something we can depend on?

I like be this machine! Works great! It comes with a stick that helps unclog due to any pet hair getting sucked up. If it stops sucking it just needs filter wiped and hair/fuzz inclogged with the stick/ tool that comes with. Has attachments for apholstry cleaning as well. Bigger tank size and works great.
