Chicago-formed electronic trio Purelink create aquatic ambient dub explorations, occasionally delving into flickering drum'n'bass. They caused a stir in underground dance communities with early releases like 2021's Bliss / Swivel, and received wider acclaim with their 2023 full-length Signs.

Purelink was formed in 2020, consisting of Tommy Paslaski (Concave Reflection), Ben Paulson (Kindtree), and Akeem Asani (Millia). Regularly convening to brainstorm and search for sounds and directions they wouldn't have come across on their own, they emerged with the self-released digital single Bliss / Swivel in 2021. The underground quickly took notice, and two more releases, Puredub (Lillerne Tape Club) and Purelink (UwU dust bath), followed in 2022. To / Deep, issued by Naff, brought the two tracks from Bliss / Swivel to vinyl, along with two additional pieces. The lush, delicate full-length Signs appeared on Peak Oil in 2023. ~ Paul Simpson
