Ok so the "hype" is real!

First of all - it totally looks like it "Should look" if it was a "droid" which is fun and made my not so inner nerd VERY happy. Secondly - I have now used it I think 3 times so far to make stuff in it and I cannot believe how easy and fun it is to use and instant pot. I am not into "trends" generally speaking but I finally caved and got one and seriously - it really does work! Cooked a whole chicken in no time, was perfectly cooked throughout, did rice (ok thats kind of boring but it worked) did a shrimp scampi in like 2 minutes - if looking to meal plan or cook quick good dishes odds are the prep time will take you longer than the actual cooking. Like I said the "hype" is real and am loving the "instant pot life" :-)

I'm so mad at myself for not getting one of these, sooner. So much less dish-cleaning!

I made my spaghetti and meat sauce in MINUTES, instead of letting it slow cook for HOURS in my crockpot. I'll say it's better letting it simmer in the crockpot for hours, but it's still really good in the IP, and allows me to be so much lazier and not have to really "plan" out meals like I normally did. The fact that I can just set this thing to the "slow cooker" setting means I can probably just throw out my crockpot, or at least store it somewhere until I have guests and need to use both appliances at the same time.

The only complaints I have, is:

1. The Silicon sealing ring, is an absolute scent-magnet. I've cleaned it 3 times and it still smells like the BBQ ribs I made 4 nights ago. I recommend picking up spare sealing rings and using 1 for "smoky" dishes ((like BBQ ribs, etc), a second for "regular" savory type dishes, and maybe a third if you plan on doing yoghurts or desserts in it. In future iterations I'd like to see them do something about that.

2. Maybe redesign the lid, so you can just throw the entire top lid in the dishwasher without having to disassemble anything (other than the ring, maybe?). There's got to be a way to figure that out.

Anyways. If you don't have an instant pot yet, you NEED to get one. There's plenty of Youtube videos online showing easy recipes that taste great. I haven't had a single meal yet, that I haven't liked, out of it. The meat always comes out super tender and "falling off the bone" consistency. The rice (REAL RICE, not instant rice) always seems to come out perfect, too, and fast. It's amazing.

Last Christmas I decided to get an Instapot. I was not disappointed. However, I couldn’t get the one I wanted. He was sold out everywhere.

This guy arrived Saturday, and on Monday I made South Carolina spicy BBQ pulled chicken sandwiches for the entire office. I am still getting compliments on them! As it was not my first IP, I was familiar with how to use it, and this model works just as well as my previous IP. It’s just ridiculously cute! I’m still getting compliments on that, as well!!

The only critique I would make would be the standard IP sounds. To really take this product to the next level, they should add character specific sounds. My R2-IP should make R2-D2 noises, and the BB-8 one should make BB-8 noises. What kind of fun noises could the Grogu IP make? I can already imagine the Darth Vader sound effects! How cool would that be? It would give people more of a reason to collect them all.

Overall, a superb product. Nothing I have bought from Instapot has been anything but amazing. Also, if you are nervous about joining the IP Club, there is a very supportive network of Facebook groups, YouTube content creators, etc. Any question you have, you can find an answer for. These friendly people have been incredibly gracious and helpful. You will never be on your own!

I ordered two of the 6 quart Star Wars Themed instapots, the Darth Vader model and the R2D2 model. Unfortunately, the R2D2 model must have gotten hit by an imperial blaster because after only one use, the screen flashed with a C6L error message, started beeping, and all the lights started to flash repeatedly and it would no longer function.

This was very disappointing, however rather than give a low rating, I gave it a high rating because they are good products this particular one just happened to malfunction, kudos to Amazon Support for replacing it free of charge. The return process was simple, just box it up, take it to UPS, they scan a code and slap a return shipping label on it and the process is done.

TLDR; Great Product, Amazon Support Great for quick response, replacement, and return process.

Highly Recommend this product.

It t just arrived yesterday and I've used it twice already. I noticed that the inner pot is a better grade of stainless steel. I love the lid fins so that I can store the lid upright on the outer pot. This pot is much more than just a pretty face.
