I rarely purchase hard copy books these days, but after borrowing the digital version from my local library system, I knew I had to have the paper version.Some great tips included. I especially like the tip for browning panko bread crumbs, which I never cared for before (i do now).Living single, it’s nice that most of the recipes serve 2. I dont mind leftovers, but don’t want to eat the same thing for a week at a time.The best part? The recipes are delicious. From fried chicken, to South Carolina Shrimp Bake, to Teriyaki Chicken with Snow Peas, and so many others I can’t wait to try.Now excuse me please. Teriyaki chicken and snow peas are calling.

    We were a little slow to join the air fryer craze, but that's because we seldom eat or make fried foods at home. When we found a Ninja air fryer at Costco, and read up on the versatility of the appliance, we decided to give it a try. In two months we have used it on-average about two times a week. We started with recipes found online, and as we got more comfortable and familiar with its capabilities, decided to invest in a cookbook. It seems the better cookbooks, ones that have good instructions and sufficient illustrations, are more expensive.

    As I see it, there are two types of air fryer users. There are those who wish to use it to heat or fry prepared foods that come out of the store's freezer case, things that are home-style 'fast food' and require few added ingredients and/or added steps in preparation. Then, there are those who wish to use it to prepare square meals from scratch that dress up the meat-and-potatoes theme. We fall into the latter category and this cookbook is designed for us.

    We own and use another America's Test Kitchen cookbook, so knew this one would be worth the cost. While we've only just started to use it, I already have some observations. Some recipes require meats or ingredients I doubt even the best chefs have on hand, like game hens, garam masala, thai chile (a pepper), or pomegranate molasses. Because we are retired and have the time to plan menus a week in advance, and can pick up the odd ingredients ahead of time, the recipes don't faze my husband and I. My second observation is that some of the recipes are dish-intensive, so that adds to clean-up time and dishwasher crowding. Still, not a game changer. The results are worth it. We made the Roasted Bone-In Chicken Breasts and Fingerling Potatoes with Sun-Dried Tomato Relish, page 32, and the results were delicious. We had to adjust cooking time because our store-bought breasts were apparently much fatter than the ones used in the Test Kitchen. But, we made copious notes in the book to aid us the next time we use the recipe. And, yes, the resulting chicken and potatoes looked every bit as appetizing as the illustration. So far, so good!

    This seems to be a very good and complete air fryer cookbook. I don't use the fryer a lot, but when I do, it never disappoints. I had gotten a different cookbook when I bought the fryer and used that for a few recipes, but this particular one has a wonderful section in the beginning explaining A LOT about different types of fryers, and price ranges, and also about air frying in particular. I recently used one recipe for a steak (!) yes! and it turned out great!!! Good news for my husband who hates to barbecue in the winter. I recommend this cookbook for a lot of reasons. It is easy to use, has very specific instructions, and descriptions, and the pictures are great!

    This book is almost perfect. But I do slightly regret my purchase, as after receiving my copy in the mail and perusing the recipes, there are only two that I would try. The recipes in the book are fine, they're just not anything my husband and I would eat. Some of the recipes look quite labor intensive. I am so happy that I ordered a used copy instead of buying new. Otherwise, it's a beautiful book, with lots of gorgeous color photographs and concise directions. Next time I will download a sample of the book before buying, but I had enjoyed all of the other Americas Test Kitchens books I have purchased in the past and thought I would like this one too. Please keep an open mind and don't let my opinion sway you from buying this book, but if you're on the fence, you may want to consider downloading the sample before purchasing.

    I watched a show from America's Test Kitchen on the BEST Air Fryers before buying the one they ranked the highest, Instapot's VORTEX. ATK used recipes that are in this book. Must say like most of ATK's books this one is a gem. The recipes are easy and delicious.

    I have had great results with the recipes in this book (unlike other air fryer recipe books I've tried). It isn't for big families though. In fact, most of the recipes are for two people which make them the perfect size for me and my DH. But that is a downsize of the air fryer IMO not this recipe book. You can only fit so much food in an air fryer. Recipes I've had success with are the Chicken Parmesan, Chicken Nuggets, Teriyaki Chicken with Snow Peas (although I didn't use snow peas), Shredded Chicken Tacos, Crispy Breaded Boneless Pork Chops, Polynesian Pork Kebabs with Pineapple and Onion, and French Fries. Very few duds so far.

    A class recommended this book for new air fryer owners - and I was very disappointed. I don't eat animals and avoid oil and like to keep my sodium low, so i kept my expectations low. But not low enough. A reasonable guideline for sodium content is to keep the mg at or below the number of calories per serving. Regretfully that is not a guideline for American Test Kitchen and in looking at the sodium content for vegetables, the mg per serving of sodium pretty much was consistently more than the number of calories per serving. Yes, a complete waste of my money.

    I have made 3 recipes from this cookbook so far and I am impressed with how easy they are to follow. ATK has eliminated un-needed steps to make the recipes quick and easy. There are some really useful hints and tips for using an Air Fryer which I appreciate since I am a novice. This cookbook is MUCH better than the one that came with the fryer.
